Well about to run marathon number 20 Monday in Boston. Weather looks rough so we shall see how it turns out. This is more of a test blog to see how this works since our first official blog will start when I turn 50 April 29th, 2019 when we will embark on our Cuba cruise. My name is Marc and my wife Rechelle (who recently turned 40) are excited to push pushing forward with our new life: The 40/50 Travel Club! No reason to waste anymore time. Let's really enjoy life (not that we haven't yet but it can always get better!) and let the fun begin!
Wow that was a tough race! Turned out t be even hotter than I thought and no rain to cool you off! Runners were dropping left and right so it became more of a just finish the thing already and who cares about time: Survival baby! My personal 2nd slowest out of 20 marathons (only one slower was my first 19 years ago! 😡 . Great news is Bostonians were awesome everywhere (Thank you Boston!). When we arrived back at the hotel (Hyatt Regency Boston) there was a LOUD standing ovation as I hobbled into the lower lobby! Then the post marathon ritual: Hot bath, sit in bed immobile and eat burger fries and the most important Coke which settles a stomach that if consumed one more power gel/gatorate combination might just explode! Then: Recovery: Ahhhhhh! At night we went to Yvonne's (super cool dark almost gothic classy bar) for a couple of drinks and then Abe and Louie's for dinner with our oldest daughter to celebrate her 24th Bday! Flew Home the next day : Within two days soreness almost gone which tells me I didn't push it hard enough: No I'm not getting older: That's not it!
